An Outline of Your First Three Rivers Orthodontist Visit
We at Bandeen Orthodontics in Three Rivers know that many people might be fearful or anxious when it comes to getting orthodontic care. This is why our team of dedicated professionals does everything possible to ensure that each patient that comes to us for orthodontic treatment is informed about everything we do during the procedure to help alleviate some of those fears and create a stress-free experience. We take great pride in making our patients as comfortable as possible, no matter how extensive their required treatment might be. Let’s take a moment to outline what you can expect from your first visit to Bandeen Orthodontics in Three Rivers.
We Take Extensive Pictures of Your Teeth
Before we do any orthodontic work, we will need to take multiple pictures of your teeth from different angles to get a full overview of your smile. We will review these photos with you, explaining any issues we identify with your tooth alignment or potential issues that could cause problems down the road. Once we have identified these issues, we can explain the treatment options you have, allowing you to have a clear understanding of the steps we need to take in order to create a beautiful smile you will be proud to show off.
X-Rays May Be Necessary
During the process of taking pictures of your teeth and smile, we may discover evidence of a more serious problem. When this happens, we will need to take X-rays to get a more detailed look at your teeth and possibly alter our strategy to take care of these problems. Not all patients will need X-Rays taken, and we make sure to only do so in appropriate situations.
Personal Consultation with an Orthodontist
One of the most important phases of your initial visit is your one-on-one consultation with the orthodontist. This is your opportunity to get answers to all the questions you have about the care you need, including the timeline and any other information you need. This allows you to go into the procedure(s) with complete confidence and clear expectations.
Understand Your Options
The next step is a meeting with a treatment coordinator. During this meeting, you will review the options available for treatment and even discuss the financial details involved. This is the last step before treatment begins and is a great opportunity for you to get all the information you need to make the right decision about your care options.
Your Treatment May Begin on Day One
Once you have discussed all of your options and made a decision, it’s possible that you could start your treatment on the day of your first visit. Your treatment would begin with X-Rays and computer remodeling, so that you are ready for more intensive work for your second visit. Please note that not all patients will be able to start treatment with their first visit.
